H - week

H

Hello! Hi!

It was 'H' week and we had a lot of 'h' business going on. Mark's parents were visiting so we worked on saying 'Haller' a lot, which sounds like 'Hadder" when Lily says it.

Lily and Baba made the craft on Monday

H is for horse

Tuesday: Hummus (not pictured)
Wednesday: We sang 'Holy Is The Lord'
Thursday: Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd, Ee, Ff, Gg, Hh.
Friday: Facetime with cousin Hayden!

Here's a video how Lily currently says/sings the alphabet. I wish I would've taken one at the beginning (ah) but I'll do one in 8ish weeks again.

Other 'H' happenings this week:

Mama got her haircut

It's fun to go through the week pointing out the words that Lily knows that begin with 'H':
hair, hi, hello, happy, hop, hand, hot, hat, hippo, Henry (Ethan's middle name), hit, hold

G - week

G

I am just getting around to posting about our G-week. Lily and Ethan were both sick last week and into this week. Ya'll know that when kids are sick, everyone is exhausted. Thankfully, they're feeling better for the most part.

I didn't snap many pictures during G-week so here are the few I did and the things we did and talked about.

By now, I hope you know what we do on each day. If not, you can look back at the first post I did called 26 letters, 26 weeks. :)

Monday: Lily made a giraffe

Tuesday: Grapes

she said "a tree!"

Wednesday: How many gospels are there? 4
Thursday: Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd, Ee, Ff, Gg
Friday: Facetime with...Grandpa!

Side note: Things don't always go smoothly. For example, this WAS the giraffe we made on Monday:
HA. I looked at it and thought, "well that does not resemble a giraffe." ...so we did a new one!
Also, we didn't get to Facetime with Grandpa until this week due to technical difficulties. :) But hey, life goes on. Much of this process is just fun with a side of learning. Lily is only 2 and I have to remind myself that when she constantly impresses me. She's absorbing so much around her and what we're doing together each day. I love to watch her learn and see how she enjoys her independence, "byself, Lily, byself".

Next up, "H"!

Good Morning, Cherry Blossoms

We ventured into DC yesterday morning (early) to see the Cherry Blossoms. They were said to be at their peak on Thursday last week so we were hoping they would still be in full bloom come Sunday. They were!
This year the Cherry Blossom Festival was still going on along with other activities in DC so it was incredibly crowded...even at 6:45am. We walked all around the Tidal Basin; it was an absolutely gorgeous morning! Mark was super-dad while pushing a double-stroller through crowds.

Here are some pictures from our short but fun morning.

F - week

F

Monday: We made fish. Lily showed Mark when he got home and he didn't know what they were. I guess we need to work on our craft skills. haa

Tuesday: Frog legs. Kidding. We had fish sticks.
Wednesday: We prayed for our family (extended family, too!)
Our verse: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16
Thursday: (below) See the activity I made for more letter practicing. They are pots that Lily can put flowers into (all uppercase) or carrots (lowercase). She's been doing the flowers this week where she matches the letter on the pot to the letter on the flower.

Friday: Lily talked to Uncle Dan because he is a Financial Adviser. :) Thanks for the early morning chat, Uncle Dan (and Ari and Ash, too!)

Ethan is 7 months!

Time is flying. Thank goodness I set an alarm on my phone to remind me that Ethan is another month older. ha. On April 8th he turned 7 months old. I feel like he hasn't changed a lot since his last update. He hasn't gotten his two front teeth, but they are close. Sadly, he seems to be in a lot of pain awaiting their arrival. :(
He also hasn't started crawling yet (I thought he would be!) but he's getting closer and closer. See the picture below to see how he gets up on his knees. He's been spinning around on his belly and trying SO hard to get things that are out of his reach.

Stats:
Weight: 19lbs 10oz
Eyes: Blue!
Hair: blondish-reddish
Sleep: 1-2 naps per day (short am and long pm) - night sleep = waking to nurse 1-2 times
Bedtime is at 6:30-7:00 and you sleep until 6-6:15 fairly consistently.
Foods: Sweet potato, pear, apple, spinach, banana, avocado, pineapple, orange
You like to chew on everything. I'm hoping those teefers will pop soon so you won't seem like a rabid chipmunk.

oh, those baby blues

'enough with these pictures, mom"

E - week (and a video!)

It's E week!

E

Did you guess what we made on make-something-Monday?
Lily is giving you a hint:

Monday: Lily made an Elephant! Did you guess it?!

Tuesday: We had hard-boiled eggs with lunch and we even were able to have a picnic. Hooray, Spring is here!

Wednesday: We read about Eve in the garden of Eden.
Our memory verse this week:
"Every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God. - Romans 14:11

Thursday: Review of A-E. Next week I'll show you a fun game I made to help Lily with learning lower-case and upper-case letters.

Friday: E-E-E-E...
ETHAN! :)

A video too. Please excuse the blurriness. I don't know why it's SO blurry. I'll have to check the settings. Toddlers don't wait for checking with settings though..! ha.
