P - week

P

Monday: Oink, Oink, we made Pigs!

Tuesday: It was more like 'what didn't start with 'P' this week: pizza, popcorn, pasta, potatoes, prunes, peppers, pancakes (yes, we had all of that...just not all on Tuesday!)

Wednesday: Lily practiced praying. Currently, she thanks God for food, family, our day, and the pool.

Thursday: We reviewed outside with chalk

Friday:
Hi, Popsy! Thanks for facetiming!

Phew, this was a FULL week.
Other fun 'p' things included: a picnic, the playground, a park, going to the pool, dyeing pasta, and painting

 my little artiste

AND...(drum roll please) Lily is officially potty-trained! She has been diaper-free for a little over 3 weeks now.
I'm SO proud of her!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all dads out there but especially today, we're celebrating the wonderful dad that Mark has become. Often I think being a mom is hard (it is) but then I give me self a little slap and remember how hard it is to be a dad. You have a lot of pressure to provide, support, encourage, love, have energy, be funny, and much, much more. Your title goes far beyond landscape manager; you're dadda, my birth coach, best friend, bother, son, neighbor, and husband. AND, you're doing all of them wonderfully. We love you and appreciate you more than cake, chocolate, and cookies.
Here's to another year of being the world's BEST dad! ...and hopefully more sleep! :)

We surprised Mark at the airport this morning. Lily yelled, "HOORAY!"
Happy Father's Day, Mark!

O - week

O
Monday: Whoooo can guess what we made?!

Tuesday: Lily and Ethan enjoyed oatmeal...

and...
yes, I gave my daughter spaghetti O's. I couldn't resist. :)

Wednesday: Our memory verse this week "O God you are my God. I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you." Psalm 63:1

Thursday: Lily and I just drew the letters on paper this week. Again, we do this because the upper and lowercase look the same. Easy-peasy.

Friday: We chatted with my 'old' friends, Karen and Sam who live in Ohio. I've known Karen since we were 5-years-old and Sam since 6th grade. Thank you for taking time to chat and talk with Lily about the letter 'O'! Miss you two!

Ethan: 9 months

Facts:
Weight: 21 lbs 9 oz
Hair: blonde with lots of fuzz in the back
Eyes: blueish/gray and gorgeous
Teeth: 7
Sleep: morning and afternoon naps (like a pro) but night-time sleep is terrible. We're working on it currently (send coffee and encouragement). :)

Other things:
Right now, I'd describe you as squirmy. You don't want to sit still or be held (unless we're doing something). You like to be busy!
You have double-jointed thumbs. It freaks me out but I guess you got them from Dadda because his thumbs are double-jointed, too.
You have a birthmark on the top of your head.
You can say "mama' and babble a lot of other jibberish sounds.
You're still army crawling but you've recently begun to pull yourself up on anything on the ground i.e. people, the fan in your room, piles of books.
Eating is probably your favorite thing to do. You eat 3 meals a day plus snacks and nursing. You're on your way to being a carnivore; you LOVE meat. Breakfast: sausage Lunch: turkey Dinner: chicken or beef (with other foods, obviously) We've got to work on your veggies. ha!

Firsts:
We took you to the pool and you really liked it. You splashed a lot and watched Lily.

(see the birthmark?)

baby needs to cool off.
(I don't know why it uploaded so small)

Love you, Ethan! Or as Lily calls you, "E-tas"

N - week

N

Monday: We made nests!

Tuesday: Lily snacked on an assortment of nuts. I couldn't really think of many things and she loves almonds, cashews and especially pecans.

Wednesday: Our verse this week "No eye has seen no ear has heard and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him." 1 Corinthians 2:9

Thursday: We did the activity with stickers that we did a few weeks ago. We found some new animal stickers at the dollar store. Lily loves her stickers!

(see, we also made necklaces ^)

Friday: We did FaceTime with cousin, Noah. Isn't he SO cute?! Lily calls him "no-no"

Sorry this week was lacking in pictures, I had a cold and felt pretty crummy. More next week!

M - week

M

Monday: Memorial Day AND Dadda was home! He made the craft with Lily. :)

Tuesday: Mangoes - yum!

Wednesday: "Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God" - Matthew 4:4

Thursday: Capital m and lowercase m look similar, so we only wrote them on a piece of paper. I try to do more activities on weeks where the two letters are significantly different. Next week, for example, we'll do something fun.

Friday: Lily talked to Great-Grandma Marge. Thank you for talking, Grandma!

Other fun 'm' things:
We got out an old mailbox that a babysitter made me a long time again. Lily LOVED putting mail in it and pretending!

We also went to the post office to mail a few things.

We're half way there! Check out our wall:
